NHSA Director of Coaching Education, Jeffrey Cousineau, has put together a five (5) part webinar series that focuses on the various tasks of a coach.
Each webinar will be 60 minutes long and be held on a Tuesday at 7 pm, using the GoToMeeting platform. The dates for the webinar series are April 21 & 28 and May 5, 12 and 19.
Coach Cousineau will have a guest coach with him for each session to add their expertise to the conversation. Meanwhile, Coach Cousineau will also be drawing on the knowledge and experience of the attendees to add to the fabric of the conversation.
The topic of discussion for each date will be:
April 21 – Building and Leading the Team. Guest Mark Ruest
Coach Cousineau and Coach Ruest will explore the process of building team unity, establishing team expectations and how to hold to players accountable to living up to the team’s expectations.
April 28 – Player Development. Guest Giovanni Pacini
Coach Cousineau and Coach Pacini will discuss the implications and expectations of designing a periodization plan that creates an environment for development of the player. How does a coach balance player development and team success?
May 5 – Managing the Performance Environment. Guest Mark Ruest
Coach Cousineau and Coach Ruest will discuss methods the challenges facing coaches as they look to utilize and incorporate the support agencies (parents, club directors, school AD’s, etc.) that support the team.
May 12 – Leading and Inspiring Female Athletes. Guest Kelly Gagnon
Coach Cousineau and Coach Gagnon explore the various the pressure and expectations that are placed on today’s female athlete as they look to excel at the game and look for leadership opportunities with their teammates.
May 19 – Creating Training Sessions. Guest Mark Ruest
Coach Cousineau and Coach Ruest will discuss the methodology of designing a training session that moves effortlessly from one activity to another while connecting a common theme and teaching topic throughout the session.
The webinar series is free and open to NH youth soccer coaches (individual over 18 years of age). Each webinar session will be limited to 50 participants. Click on the link below to register for a single webinar or a group of sessions.

The New Hampshire Soccer Association is the official soccer association for the State of New Hampshire and its great soccer community—coaches, players, referees, and parents. The Organization Overview is designed to support all membership groups within NHSA in order to aid organizational development with players & coaches. By participating in the program, groups will be directly assessed in relation to how well they are implementing the USSF Best Practices, as well as the US Youth Soccer Soccer Development Model.
