The new USSF coaching curriculum and Grassroots courses has given NHSA the opportunity to better structure the coaching certification requirements to match the needs of the volunteer coaches in NH. The current standards went into effect at the start of the 2018 season (September 2018).
The NHSA coaching certification standards are as follows:
Definition of ‘Competitive’ and ‘Travel/Recreational’ pathway categories:
Competitive Level | Travel / Recreational Level |
Professional and Volunteer Coaches | Volunteer Coaches |
The teams participates in NHSL Division 1 or top division in another league. | The participates in NHSA Division 2 or 3, or is in a recreational league. |
Coach Jeffrey Cousineau, Director of Coaching Education, will be a presenter at the NHSA Annual General Meeting, on March 10, 2018. At the AGM, Coach Cousineau discussed the coaching certification requirements, grandfathered licenses and how the new Grassroots coaching curriculum from USSF fits into soccer in NH.
